Finding your people, nurturing your values, and anchoring life in a warm, forward-thinking Progressive Jewish community.
Choosing a synagogue is about far more than a seat for the High Holy Days. It is about belonging — a place to pray, learn, celebrate, and be held through life’s joys and challenges.
At Hertfordshire Progressive Synagogue, membership roots you in an egalitarian, inclusive kehillah that bridges the heritage of Radlett Reform and Elstree Liberal with a shared future for Progressive Judaism across Hertfordshire.
Everyone participates equally in ritual, services, and leadership — regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or background. Interfaith households and non-Jewish partners are welcomed as vital members of communal life.
PrayCelebrate baby namings, B'Mitzvahs, and weddings with rabbinic guidance and a supportive congregation. In illness, hardship, or bereavement, pastoral care and burial-scheme access are there for you.
Care & supportEngaging programmes from early years through B'Mitzvah and Kabbalat Torah, plus youth leadership and rich adult learning in Hebrew, Jewish thought, ethics, and culture.
LearnPut Jewish values into action through social justice, environmental work, and charitable outreach — and build lasting friendships through music, cultural outings, walking groups, and communal meals.
CommunityYour membership powers our united congregation. It helps ensure a modern, dynamic, and welcoming Progressive Jewish voice thrives across Radlett, Elstree, and the wider county for generations to come.
