THE SHERMAN BROTHERS – the Jewish brothers who taught the world to sing
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cher-ee, It’s a Small World, I Wan’na Be Like You, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang…
The songs are unforgettable. But the story of the two brothers who wrote them is even more surprising.
Richard and Robert Sherman became Walt Disney’s brilliant songwriting team and helped create the sound of Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh and much more. Their songs were filled with optimism, family, kindness and harmony. Yet behind the scenes, the brothers themselves had an extraordinarily difficult relationship.
